About
I'm a director working across short films, commercials, and story-driven content with a focus on honest, character-led storytelling—often with a touch of humour and the slightly absurd. Based in Cardiff, I am currently developing projects that combine drama and comedy with emotional authenticity.
Originally trained as an animator, I spent over a decade working as a senior animator, story artist, and animation director on children’s TV, commercials, and feature films—including Creative Supervisor on Richard Linklater’s Apollo 10½. This background has given me a keen eye for visual storytelling, timing, and performance, which I now bring to my live-action work.
My live-action directorial debut, It’s Nice! (When People Take The Time To Say Goodbye)—a BBC-commissioned short about a family wake with a few surprises—premiered on BBC Two Wales in December 2023 and is currently screening on iPlayer and at festivals. I am passionate about stories that reveal the extraordinary and absurd in everyday life — dramas with humour, heart, and a bit of bite.
Recently, I shadowed director Rebekah Fortune on the feature Learning to Breathe Underwater, where I also served as Creative Assistant to the Director, contributing my animation expertise to live-action/animation sequences.
At present, I am writing my next short and developing a longer-form series in collaboration with writer Alice Condon, with whom I previously partnered on It’s Nice!.
If you’re a producer, writer, or collaborator interested in telling unexpected, human stories—I’m always open to a chat.
